We repair, and replace doors all over North Georgia. Whether you have a door closer that is now allowing the door to slam or your door is not closing at all, we can correct this. Door closers typically last somewhere between 2 to 10 years and if they’re not replaced regularly they can damage the door.
A door closer that is not functioning correctly can have very bad consequences. Their primary function is to close the door at a slow rate so that no one is injured by a heavy door slamming. They also serve in a fire suppression role If the door is shut automatically a fire cannot spread as quickly.
A lot of the calls that we receive are to repair or replace doors. Even though A lot of commercial doors are made of steel eventually even steel wears out. Metal eventually fatigues. Where the doors are welded together they eventually come apart whether it be from use, abuse, or even rust. One of the very common ways the doors break are at the hinge locations which is where a majority of the weight of the door is supported. These areas are called hinge pockets, and hinge pockets frequently have welds that break. This is a problem that we solve on a regular basis
