Glass door fronts are a staple of our customer base. The locks on glass door fronts are unavailable from any hardware store. So when it comes time to fix them a locksmith must be involved.

If it isn’t the lock hardware that is going bad. It’s the door closer or pivots causing the door to drag or not close correctly.

There are several different types of overhead closers they’re the concealed door closers which you cannot see they’re in the header of the door. Then there are the surface mounted door closers which are visible. When these fail they’d have a tendency to drip hydraulic fluid. They also slam or clothes extremely slowly.

Glass door fronts typically have lots of offices on the inside that require ADA compliant lever handles “American disability act”.

Glass door fronts are specifically made to provide security but also to allow fire departments to gain entry with relative ease. These doors known they come in either single or double doors. The double doors are normally secured with pins at the top and the bottom on the inactive side, and the active side of the doors are normally secured by an Adam’s right deadbolt or dead latch. On occasion these doors are secured with panic bars otherwise known as REM exit devices. These devices can simply just be pushed to allow exit. Door closers on occasion need to be adjusted for speed especially with temperature changes when it gets cold or hot these doors have a tendency to either close very quickly or clothes very slowly the relatively easy to adjust with just a simple Allen wrench. You do have to be careful when you are adjusting these because they will break very easily and hydraulic fluid will dump everywhere and then the closer will have to be replaced. When the hardware for these doors is maintained it can last for 20 years or more.
